Growing up, we didn't take many family vacations, but my mother and I would take mini trips all the time. She was a seamstress, amongst other things, so most times we were in search of fabric or patterns, but that didn't matter to me. Anytime I heard, "Lydia, let's go" I would grab my shoes and get ready to embark on yet another journey. Being on the go and traveling became a part of my DNA.

Unfortunately, I lost my mother in 2005. In an effort to keep her alive, I birthed The Traveling Jean on the 15th anniversary of her being gone, to bring a new meaning to that day while honoring two things I love dearly: traveling and my mother.
